Love Turned Gray

 Silently I speak
Across the room
You know
Curiosity of thoughts
We’ve seemed to outgrow

Those delicate wings of butterflies
Of which we used to know
Rest quiet and calmly now
Amongst the afterglow

Angry words and painful hurts
Nothing new to know
The ancient remains entombed
As a friend or foe

What we found
 Is now lost
But so much more remains
In these times
Love still shines
When love has turned to gray
~ Serenity ~
