Love Turned Gray

 Silently I speak
Across the room
You know
Curiosity of thoughts
We’ve seemed to outgrow

Those delicate wings of butterflies
Of which we used to know
Rest quiet and calmly now
Amongst the afterglow

Angry words and painful hurts
Nothing new to know
The ancient remains entombed
As a friend or foe

What we found
 Is now lost
But so much more remains
In these times
Love still shines
When love has turned to gray

Go Back to Sleep

Dreams so vivid
You feel, they're real
Floating on an ocean
Obscured by the mist

Unable to move
A warm blanket covers you
The vastness sucks you in
As you surrender

Life's Dance

The sun is my source
The wind breathing in life
The moon gives me solace
As the stars twinkle in the night

The tree’s provide shade
Their leaves rustling in the wind
Making music for my soul
Sheltering me while I mend

How Were We To Know

How were we to know
Life would go so fast
How were we to know
You couldn’t forget my past
How were we to know
Our love wouldn’t last
It’s the one thing
That’s supposed to stay steadfast

I can’t ever remember enough
But some memories won’t leave
I try to pretend most days
But you’re not naïve
It doesn’t matter
How much I try to deceive
How were we to know
We couldn’t perceive
We used to be thick as thieves
Please
Tell me
How were we to know
