Moon Child

Artwork by: Dimitra Milan

Moon Child

Light slips through the dark night
Evading capture, shifting and swirling
Both left and then right.

You can sit and watch her dance
Let her pull you under, down,
Deep into a trance.

Then kiss your soul with the softest of lips,
Brushing like butterflies wings but passing through you,
A total eclipse.

She’s both strong and demure, it’s seductive.
Something so beautiful and pure, keeping you from being
So self-destructive.

She’ll stay and play with you in the obscure,
Then at dawn leaves like a mist
Withdrawing her lure.
