Until I Can Breathe Again
Been stuck like this for so long now
They tell me to 'just be myself' but I can't remember how.
Life moves all around me, passing by,
They tell me 'don't give up' but all I do is try.
Will these shadows ever lift?
So I can just breathe, allowing the clouds to shift.
A single ray of sunshine has struck my eye.
I feel a sharp pain in my chest, will I finally cry?
My heart rips open, the trapped emotions are freed.
I just lie here frozen and let it bleed.
Feeling it all from love to regret.
I gently touch my cheek and realize...
My fingers are wet.
